You, my friend, are a genius. Kid-designed embroidered pillows and resuable gift wrapping? How do you manage to come up with such great cute ideas?

Aww, thank you! I'm a stay-at-home mom so I get to spend most days crafting and being creative with my daughter. 90% of my projects are inspired by her.

What a brilliant idea, lovething!!!  The last couple of years my family have been recycling paper giftbags and bows (idea started with my mom in 2002). The bags have seen better days...lol. I think I will incorporate your idea but make Christmas cloth giftbags.

Genius!!!

To be even more planet friendly - thrift stores and yard sales are often great sources of holiday fabric.  I've bought quite a bit that way.

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

We re-use our wrapping paper so many times it gets holes in it and we still use it. Don't throw your paper! Make paper from it, make stained glass windows with it, decoupage boxes or something with it.

Then use these boxes for your gifts. This is a GREAT idea! You could make one with a boxed bottom shape for larger gifts. If you could take off the outer decorations or have reversible sides, they would be even more versatile! The awesome thing would be to make a bunch out of the same fabric for christmas time, then the other sides scattered for birthdays, easter, baby showers, wedding gifts, everything.

Scrap fabrics would help make the cost economical for giving them away, too. Easy way to trim the fabric stash!
