Being a preemie baby myself 30 years ago ive always wanted to knit for my local neonatal unit but so far my hats have never turned out quite right and ive been too embarassed to send anything in!

However I saw the bonnet pattern in this month's Simply knitting (October) and thought id give it a go Smiley

I used Dk wool and 4mm needles rather than 4ply and 2.5 needles so it is bigger than the pattern but still smaller than the average baby size. I think my next one will be a blue and white stripe without the crochet edging for a boy Smiley Great way to stash bust and help out the local hospital!

It is exquisite. And I know the parents of the babies you donate to will be so touched.

I love it. It is so sweet and well done. I would love to try it....maybe weave some contrasting/matching ribbon through it?
