Recycled wooden futon frame, NEW Shoe rack!
«

Sorry had no clue where to post this. Please move if it's in the wrong place. My DH came up with this wonderful idea to turn my broken wooden futon into a shoe rack! I still think it needs something... but here it is!!

Your husband had a great idea and it works quite nicely. You have awesome shoes and a smart husband ( shhh dont tell him though ). I think some paint would make it look better if you want an improvement ( which it dont need ). Awesome way to recycle. He definately has an idea for 'From trash to Treasure'.

Looks like it works great-good idea! It's funny,I was at Goodwill yesterday, and they had a metal toddler/youth bed stood vertically, and I couldn't help but think"hmmm, wonder how that would be with fabric stored over all those bars?"
It's a wonder we craftsters ever throw anything away-it's all got possibilities.I love your shoe rack, and am jealous of all your shoes.

First, AAHHH the shoes....one of my weaknesses. That is such a great idea, and so much better than all the shoes piled on the floor of the closet...it takes like 10 minutes to find a match.

I try to recycle as much as possible he always gets on to me for holding onto "junk" which I claim I have plans for.

Never thought of that, I bet it'd be great for fabric. It would get it out of my totes and stay less wrinkled

*bows* yes my weakness as well. I honestly got tired of tripping over them so I dubbed my DH as a true genius! And he supports my shoe addiction!
Glad everyone liked it

That's neat!
Maybe some paint could spruce it up a bit.
Really cool like that though.

I gotta idear. I see you like red and black ( my favorite colors ! ). Paint the shoe rack red then lay some lace over it and spray with black or vice versa. I think it would look nice with your decor. But, thats my opinion.

If not, maybe you should come over to the dark side....I bet you'd love it.......more reason to buy those types of shoes
