I found this yarn at Michael's, its Mode Dea's Tweedle Dee, its a varigated painted type yarn, very nice:)

I used an L hook and here is the "pattern"

Ch 20 (multiple of 8 + 4)
row 1:Dc in 4th ch from hk and in each st across.  ch 3, turn
row 2-5: skip 1 dc, *fpdc in each of first 4 sts, bpdc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * to end, dc in ch 3 space.  ch 2, turn
row 6-9: skip 1 dc, *bpdc in each of next 4 sts, fpdc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * to end, ch 2, turn.

rep rows 2-5, then 6-9 until desired length.  the basket weave comes from alternating blocks of rows.  this creates a dense fabric, so watch your hook size for the yarn--too tight and you'll get a thick, unyielding fabric.  This scarf is going to be quite warm!

Very nice!  I love doing basket weave, and yours looks great.  And I'm going to have to look for that yarn -- I really like the effect of long color changes, and this also looks to have a tweed effect.

Thanks everyone, I love this yarn now, and I've used the stitch before with great success.  I think I'll have to use it more and more, now that I remember the base chain formula Smiley
