Dahlin, I'm so glamorous I cry glitter tears.

So I bought fabric that was perfect for my living room over a year ago and about a month ago finished up these drapes.  The color of the fabric is much more like the wall paint that it looks in the photos, the tan color is a tone in my oak floors, some of the highlight colors are in my couch and chair AND there's some kind of shiny thread in there, too!  I felt lucky to find the trim that matched at the same time (30% off everything at Fabric Depot) and bought liner to protect them and give them the weight (visual and physical) to hang nicely and look pro.  They don't close, but as soon as I hung them the room looked much more "finished".  I took up my green wool rug for summer and haven't put it back yet, but it really ties the green in around the vertical space.

View from the hall.  Can't quite see, but they are floor length w/o puddling (as I have cats and a dog visitor):

Trim at the top on the rod that I had to cut shorter with a hack saw as I couldn't find my pipe cutter tool (the worst part of the project):

Hand-stitched hem with liner:

During the project with my full-time "helper".

Thanks for looking!

Those are beautiful! (and so is your kitty)
I really like the colors- they're fun without over powering the space or looking at all busy..great job!!

Thanks monica_thompson and ericav!  I don't ever remember working so hard on sewing rectangles before, that's for sure.  And my Pearl thanks your for your compliments to her.  She's not one of those aloof cats at all.

Wow. Those are really lovely and very professional looking. I have never made lined drapes.

Life isn't worth living without the help of kitties  Smiley I spy a cute kitty in the first picture also.

Thanks Teresa_T!  That's the same cat.  She only likes her picture taken when I'm not taking her picture.

Well, thanks missjesswinkwink!  I'm not the hippest gal and have no idea what pro-sauce means, but it sounds like a compliment.  Um, right? Roll Eyes
