Hi guys!

I've only lived in the UK for a little under a year now, and have yet to get any information on craft fairs and markets. I live in Surrey, outside of London, so I am sure there must be something happening in the capital from time to time. How does everyone find out about craft fairs? And has anyone (or anyone you know) ever had a market stall/table (specifically, in Spitalfields...sinc e that seems to be the market of choice for young crafters & designers. But if you know of any other goods ones, please tell!)? I am really interested in looking into other options of selling my products, other than my website and consignment websites. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Smiley

you're lucky you live so close to the capital, i'm having a very hard time finding craft fairs on the east coast. the nearest one is about 15 miles away and they sell cakes and other old lady stuff.

you'll have to look really hard for craft fairs in the UK, i've serched the web all over and i can't find a thing. let me know when you find anything!

I enquired about a stall at spitalfields and from the info I got, you had to queue in the morning and there was totally no guarantee at all you would get a stall. I have the info if you want it forwarding?
There's some student markets around - i did one in Manchester and the other stalls were all really really good but they sold it all for nothing. the stuff I had was made by other people so I obviously had to put my mark up on it too so my prices were a lot more than everyone else and hence nobody bought anything!

There is a market with spaces I think, near Spitalfields - is it the hanbury st market? It's quite new i think but it was quite good when I went a few months ago and quite busy too and it's just over the road from spitalfields.

Anyway what happened to consigning with me?! You still owe me a replacement top too!

Charlotte.

sorry for all the cross posting i'm doing- I just wanna make sure people know about this!

Hey hey! Our alternative xmas craft fair went so well that we are holding another one- this time it's just in time for Valentines day. The fair will be held on Feb 12th from 10.30-5.30 in the gallery at http://www.thingsfromhere.co.uk a shop and gallery space in Bristol, Uk.
There's still some spaces up for grabs at 5-10 a space (super budget) and you will be sellling with people like http://www.madebymilla.com (aka me), http://www.handmadebyalys.com and http://www.peskimo.com

There's gonna be a dj in the form of Kid Cupid and heart shaped cookies for munching on.

Please email or PM me if you want a space- I need to know asap!
