I like the neat designs you can do with foundation quilt blocks but I absolutely hate the process so...I took a pattern and cut out the pieces and then adhered them to a block of super lightweight fusible interfacing.  Then I zigzag stithed over the butted edges which then became another design element in the quilt top.   Then 4 of each were sewed together the regular way and then sashing of the patterned cottons.  I like the way this one turned out and I am exploring other patterns that I can do this way.  Enjoy and Happy Holidays!!

That's really awesome!
It does seem to make a big difference to the look of the quilt - sort of bubblier, less angular. Really excellent!
