Adorable! I wish I knew some babies to make these for. It would be a great way to use up the trekking sock yarn from my frogged Jaywalkers.

They are so cute! I'm seriously considering adapting the pattern for myself, for some winter slippers. Why should babies have all the fun wearing these?
But somehow, I don't think they'll look as cute on my size 8 feet.

Does anyone know of a good way to do the button loops?  I tried to crochet a chain, but I dont really like how it looks.

juliesnider, there's a good sewn buttonloop tute here.  It's obviously on a bigger scale than you'd need for the bootees but it might help.

Beautiful baby shoes in the OP by the way Smiley

That looks a lot like the originals.  Thank you!

Thanks for the lovely comments. To make the button loop I used the leftover yarn from the cast on/off to make a loop then knotted it and weaved (wove?) in the end down the strap, seems to work well and reinforces the straps a bit too so they sit nicely.  Grin

When you say you used "Paton's Fairytale" is fairytale the color name or specific paton's yarn name? I can't see a yarn name called "fairytale" on their website. Thanks!
