So, I've been trying my hand at sewing knit fabric, jersey T-shirt stuff, and EVERYTIME  I try, the fabric gets pushed down by the needle into the feed dogs and all jumbled up.  I've tried different needles, ballpoint, etc.  Does anyone have special hints for sewing knit fabric?   Thanks so much, Julie  Kiss

Hm, you say you've tried different needles - that's the first thing I would've suggested.
#2 thing to try is make sure you are sewing an ample distance away from the edge. You simply can't sew within 3/16 of the edge on knits because it will pull under.
#3 is switch out your throat plate to the straight-stitch throat plate, which allows less of the fabric to pull downwards.

Thanks for your suggestions Boingo82!  I really appreciate it.  I think that I have been sewing too close to the edge, most of my seam allowances have been 1/4 inch.  I'll have to see if I have another throat plate.  Thanks  Kiss
