I'm new to embroidery and here are a couple of my first attempts...I'm thinking of adding wood beads and shells to the swirls. Any suggestions?

They are both lovely! I Love swirls and spirals, a few beads and some shells would certainly add some interesting texture, if you decide to go ahead, I'd love to see some more pics.  Smiley

Great start you have!  You might want to consider getting some plain wooden beads and painting them yourself with acrylic paints.

Both are really beautiful!  Can I ask where you got the dress pattern?  I'd love to do one and frame in my sewing area!
