Because I chose yellow instead of orange.  I love orange, but I made this for my sister and she's more of a yellow person.  I used knitpicks Shine Sport in Butter, 4 skeins.  Super cheap.  I wanted to use the alpaca that the pattern calls for, but my sister lives in California, so she doesn't need (and didn't want) anything with too much extra warmth ever.  The Shine sport worked great, I got gauge with it no problem.  The pattern was pretty simple, too, I picked up on the lace pretty quickly, so it would have been a very fast knit if I would have worked on it more consistently.  Anyhow, behold:

The back:

and a detail of the lace:

Sorry I don't have a better action shot, I was still in my pjs when the pictures were taken.  You can imagine, though, how cute it would look with a cami or dress or something, though.

Hope you like!

Beautiful work.  I feel prettier just looking at it, so I imagine your sister will really enjoy using your gift to her!

This is beautiful! I love the color... and the great handiwork really shows. I love the tapered forms at the end too, they really finish the piece well. Lovely work!
