Hey everyone!  I made this hat for my sister, it is sized for an adult head but it can be made for a child also.  My daughter Natasha is the model:

Materials:

ww yarn

size I hook

Note:

Each round is joined with a slip stitch to the first stitch.  The beginning chain on each round counts as the last stitch of the round.  I did a chain 2 for the beginning chain, if you prefer using chain 3, go right ahead! This hat can also be made with a chunky yarn and a size J hook, for the adult size leave off the last increase round, for a child size hat leave off the last 2 or 3 increase rounds.

Start with 8 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc, chain 2.

rd1:  2 dc in each sc around, sl st to first dc, ch 2. (16 dc)

rd2: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (24 dc)

rd3: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 2 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (32 dc)

rd4: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 3 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (40 dc)

rd5: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 4 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (48 dc)

rd6: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 5 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (56 dc)

rd7: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 6 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (64 dc)

rd8: 2 dc in first dc, dc in next 7 dc around, join with sl st, ch 2 (72 dc)

rd9: hdc in first dc, *ch 1, skip next dc, hdc in next dc* around, join with sl st, ch 3

rd10-14 or 15: *Skip first hdc, hdc in next ch-1 space, ch 1* repeat this round like 5 or 6 times, really until the hat is as long as you need it to be. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Enjoy!

Nathalie

geez, nice hat    Roll Eyes  I hardly ever comment on things b/c I like everything here, it would take so much time.

But maybe I'll make it, it is pretty cute.

Well, this is the first time I saw it, and my thought was, cute hat.... i gotta go upstairs and find my I hook. Cute kid.... Looks like she's really enjoying modeling your work. Smiley

I've had more views than that before getting a first post... and on some cool stuff too. It's hard to keep checking back and seeing no responses, but usually after a while it gets a reply or two and just kinda keeps on going.

is this the same as the green hat you recently posted?

(Forgive me, my caps key is very worn and works about half the time.)

I love the hat.  Very chic.  My 2 dd's would go gaga over that one.

This is the first chance I've been at the computer today.  DH is on 3 fantasy football leagues and totally hogs it......  ( I hate Football season) Angry

Aw Nathie! *hugs*
I think it's quite cute! I have gotten over 200 views before and only one reply so don't worry to much about it. You kinda have to think that if people are looking they are at least interested. Some people (like me)
Look while at work and may not have time to comment till they get home or may think they've commented and forget. ( I do that too all the time.)
So don't get yourself down. Also you can draw out suspense if you wait a day or two to post a pattern. Wink See if anyone is interested and if not just post it on your blog for people to find when they are interested.
I personally love your work though don't get to discouraged and keep crocheting no matter what!

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.
