Fantastic work! I love the improvements you made on it, especially the reversible effect.

When I read your original post, my immediate reaction was "Holy @#$%!" And then reading your follow up post... I could completely picture my boy taking the hat and making the noises and saying the exact same thing... I could also picture him saying "when I'm in a bad mood, I'll wear decepticon in front... when I'm in a good mood, I'll wear the autobot in front... and when I'm just 'meh', I'll wear the inside." Which is all the more reason I'm thrilled that you are going to be posting a tutorial.... My boy has a decepticon tattoo, he doesn't want this... he needs it. lol  Btw, I hit "This Rocks" because it truly does. Totally awesome job!

Question:  Do you have a pattern for a reversible hat like this?  Just the hat, not the transformers part.  I can't find one I like anywhere, and I really want to do something like this to match this:  http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTandre.html

Anyway... Thanks if you get back to me.  If not, this is a kick ass project anyway.  Smiley

Yep, thats just about the coolest hat I have ever seen.  I must make for my own transformer fan boyfriend, who would also make those "transforming" noises upon placing it on his head...what is with that?

Yep, thats just about the coolest hat I have ever seen.  I must make for my own transformer fan boyfriend, who would also make those "transforming" noises upon placing it on his head...what is with that?

He started talking about the movie about 8 months before it was in theaters, referencing all the 80s Transformers choices (cartoon, movie, toys)...  When we were in line for the movie this summer he was pondering aloud whether the noise would be the same...  boys.

I am going to get the charts/instructions/pictures together over the weekend (I'm attempting to be very positive "I am going to" rather than "I hope to" in hopes it will be a self-fulfilling prophesy...) and will post them or a link Monday (again, hopes...)

Thank you all for all the great comments.  I told the boy about them and his big concern was that he wouldn't have a unique toque anymore.  So I explained that each person will interpret the pattern/charts in their own way and each will be different.  He still was concerned (jokingly so, I hope) so I assured him that NONE of the commenters would be from the Calgary area...  Boys.  So, dear Craftster friends, when you make your own Transformers toque, if you happen to be in the Calgary area, if you see the boy in the black & orange Transformers toque and you are wearing your own Transformers toque, do me a favor and hide yours?  K?  And tell him you like his...
