it used to be a separate town that got assimilated by okc in the 60's.  mostly between may and penn, britton and hefner.  don't feel stupid, i'm totally lost on south side, i pretty much never go south of I-40.

i do pretty much everything besides knitting/crocheting.  i do a lot of  cross stitch and beading (necklaces/ornaments), i'm trying embroidery, but still a novice, and i sew a lot.

i'd love to try and do halloween stuff, where do you think we could try to meet>

also...i know you both mentioned you crochet. (i know it isn't knitting) but i do teach a knitting class every tuesday night and i would love if some people just wanted to come and sit around and hang out with us. it is at hancocks in midwest city.(kinda far i know) but i think every knitter should know some crochet and vice versa. i couldn't ever understand it myself. I taught myself how to knit when i was 14 and it is my passion i want to do it for a living one day! hopefully i hear from you both soon

Hey...I have recently been thinking about learning a new craft...what's the diff between knitting and crocheting?  which one do you reccomend starting out with?  I live in South OKC, and would be willing to do maybe a once a month type meeting...I love to sew...have been sewing for about 2 months now... Smiley

I have a crochet and knit group that gets together twice a month in Moore. Most of us are crocheters but we do have a few knitters as well. You are welcome to join us. Send me a PM and I will give you the details.
Oh and my breakdown of knitting and crocheteing, both are a great craft.
Crochet - crochet hooks
Knitting - knitting needles, a pair
Crochet - faster, vert versitle, you can make just about and size, shape
Kniiting - slower, but it does use less yarn, looks neater because of the flat straight lines.

Really, I think it is just up to you, and I have heard both ways that people who learn to knit first, pick up on crochet really easily and the other way around.
