After YEARS of wanting to learn to embroider, I finally dove right in...and could barely put it down!!

I decided to just play a bit for my first 'sample', get to know some stitches and colours and technique. I freehanded a small design, and went to work!

Before:

and After:

I was quite pleased with the end product! Though I still haven't decided what to do with it yet...maybe an ipod sleeve??

Please comment!

that's a sweet design! i am so old-fashioned; i would probably frame it in a cool frame. but the ipod sleeve is ingenious!

Aww, thanks everyone! I've commited to a quite ambitious project next....a growth chart for my best friend's baby (for future use, of course...)

Working on the design now...

Your first embroidery? Freehanded? *squints eyes and raises eyebrow" GORGEOUS! You were born to embroider (unlike myself, but I do it anyway, haha), keep on doing it.
