I've been eyeing this pattern for a while now because I haven't had any time to actually sit down and knit it, so I've been oggling it from afar. But now that I have time to knit again, I'm going to make this hat as Christmas presents for some of my friends this year.

I was wondering about the yardage for the bulky hats. About how much yarn did you guys use for your hats? I'm wondering how much yarn I should buy because I want to make matching hat and mitten sets for my friends (and maybe me too  Wink).

I love this pattern and everybody's hats look amazing!

I have 4mm (US 6) circulars and dpns, what type of wool would you suggest? (I'm from the UK, so won't have any of your brands)

I had a lot of fun making mine...only took about an hour and a half of watching the "What not to Wear" marathon yesterday.  I'm hoping to make a couple to help save some money and stash bust.

This was made with 1 skein of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky in a burnt orange color.

Thanks for the pattern!!! Grin

so, here's my version...it was supposed to be for my sister, but, i don't think i knit it long enough...i did make it longer than the pattern called for...

i used bernat softee chunky.....and i found this bag of vintage buttons at michaels and it has a handful of big buttons in it...so that's where the button came from...
