the hat looks great-there is a similar pattern in Twinkle's (the Aspen Hat)-it has a wider button band and two buttons-but I think yours is way more adorable....

That is such a great hat, and that shade of orange is lush!

You have done a great job and I'm really impressed with your skills.  I can't knit (unless you count squares!  Cry) but would very much like too.  I'm actually teaching myself to crochet at the moment - just test squares to get used to it and the tension &c. but am ashamed to say I can't read a knitting or crochet pattern for the life of me.  Sewing patterns yes - those patterns no - at the moment anyway.

It does go to show though doesn't it the mark up that stores do if the one you saw was $50 (about 25GBP) and yours was about $5 (about 2.50GBP).  If I see something I like I try to make my own - either similar or the same.

Your hat actually looks 'softer' if that made any sense compared to the photograph of the original you added to your page.

I'm very impressed - well done you  Grin!

With blessings.

SO IMPRESSED with your ability to re-create this hat!  It looks really good...funny, I was in a museum shop last weekend and saw some equally overpriced hats, crocheted out of junky acrylic!  If only those non-crafty consumers knew what we did...

I LOVE it.
You look WAY better than the model in it, too.

Wow! Thanks for all the sweet comments. It was great to wake up this morning and read the positive responses. I kept some notes while I worked on this hat so I'll try to make them into an intelligible pattern.  Stay tuned... Cheesy
