So, I've had about 1200 yards of worsted weight casmere (natural cream color) in my stash for a while - and I don't know what to do with it. I'm kinda feeling it needs to be knit into someting special... Any ideas? (I don't want a hat or mittens out of this, but a garment). Huh Smiley

Well, my standard answer when someone posts a question like this, especially when it pertains to cashmere, and even more so at this quantity is that you are more than welcome to give it to me.

I stand by that answer.

But if you don't like that answer, look for a pretty cardigan pattern?

There is a really pretty pattern from stitchdiva.com called Saharra, and its beautiful, and if your within the first 4 sizes you could make that. the pattern is 7 bucks.  Its knitted with silk, so i dont know how it would transfer, but its worth a look.

Hehe, yeah I've done the Sahara in the silk already and I'm not feeling that pattern for cashmere. Maybe something with classy cables? (3/4 sleeve ballet neck maybe?) Hmm...(the wheels are churning!). Wink

Wicked, from zephyrstyle.com has a boat neck(?) and crossover cables on the neckline and pocket, and directions for sleeves of different lengths. Im working on it now, its really quick.

Must it be a sweater? You could make a great clapotis and just wrap yourself in cashmere.

I'm king on a Wicked, too! But in Rowan Tapestry...hehe.

I have thought about a shawl of some sort, and now that you've reminded me, I have some beads coming that might spice it up a bit. Mwahahaha!

I forgot to ask; do I treat cashmere the same as regular wool in terms of washing and blocking? I just want to make sure I don't knit something and then ruin it! Smiley

It probably sounds really frivolous but had you considered a teddy bear.  I've done Cashmerino and Cashmere teddies for very special children.  Smiley

I was thinking a nice Clapotis also.  If I had 1200 yds of worsted cashmere, I would just want to wrap it around myself.  Also, since its cream, you can dye it whatever color you want!
