I love to make those too!  Your's look great!  I once made one and placed small, fitted pieces of mirrored tape to the inside areas, and when opened, it was amazing!

i actually just decided to do something like that. for class i have an assignment to take a simple motif and construct it 20 different ways in different media... so i picked the star with this book in mind... i can take the "star" idea in any direction, but i'm not sure which yet. i think i'll start with drawing/painting/knitting stars for each of the pages

any more ideas? i'll definitely post pics when this is done

I particularly like the sliding bead closure!  Too bad a bead is too thick to mail.  {think think think}  Well, maybe not a flat bead.  A little buckle?
