Thank you  I'm pretty proud of it - I messed up a few times but for only my second quilt ever I can live with those mistakes.

that's okay! some people purposely put at least one mistake into every quilt! it apparently comes from the traditional amish quilts - believing that only god could be perfect, that was how they showed their humbleness (is that a word?).


it's incredibly beautiful, i love it! did you use a pattern, or did you make it up yourself? i'm trying to look at it and figure out how it goes together.... i'm just getting back into quilting after several years of a break, and it's super inspiring!

Thanks  It started off as a coffee shop sketch which got tidied up into this...



...which I made up four times and joined together, flipping it over twice. Uh...that's a pretty bad explanaton. Let me try again - if the sketch above is 'a' and its mirror image is 'b' then I put it together like...

That's really beautiful!  I love it.  I've only worked on small projects lately.  This quilt makes me want to run to my sewing room and get cracking on something like this.  Some machine quilting places will give you a price break on your first quilt that they do.  You could also check out church lady quilting groups.  My church has one that meets every Friday and sometimes they will hand quilt peoples quilts for a decent price.  (Surely that's not only here in Ohio?!)

Gorgeous!!  Almost makes me want to try quilting a little bit more seriously.  And then I reread the part about your swearing... and come to my senses.  I haven't found that quilting and I get a long.  But I sure enjoy admiring from afar!  Great work.. I love the design and the bold colors!!

Well, I think it's beautiful!!  I like the colour combination and the different square sizes, I think it makes the quilt look quite dinamic; it actually reminds me of a Kaffe Fassett work... well done!
