Hello. I still am not able to post actual pics yet. I hope that these links dont keep people from checking out my posts!

Anyways, here is a sculpture I did recently. I saw an old illustration in a book I have and made this guy using it as a refernce. The finished sculpt was really hard to photograph for me for some reason, so some of the pictures have the contrast adjusted so as to see it better.

multiple angle pic...

and a close up of the face...

and the illustration i used for inspiration...

If anyone knows who did this drawing or where it came from, let me know. I am pretty sure its and oldie.

Very cool and creepy! Reminds me a little of Mr. Tumnus from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (but scarier)!

That is fantanstic! You did wonders with that old photo.

I can't get over how lifelike he is. Did you paint him or use different coloured clay? And what brand did you use?

Once again, congratulations on an awesome project. I kinda wish he had little kids sticking out of his sack now... Wink

I painted him with just regualar craft arcylic paint, like Apple Barrel and Folk Art. It was tough to decide exactly what colors to use, but I think it turned out alright.

I opted not to put those kids coming out of the bag because I felt like without the rest of the picture, the context wasnt really there. that and the kids looked kind of weird shaped. This way, you can decide what he might have in his bag!

Thanks for your kind words. I am flattered!

that is so amazing!! I absolutely love it!  Is that just clay or did you use something like wire and then put the clay around it?  How long did this take you?!  I really am in love with it!!
