When I was a kid, I collected paper dolls and I have recently rediscovered their whereabouts. So now I have a box of them and I don't know what to do with them. I'm a very crafty person and I don't want to simply decopage with them. But then, it's the only thing I can come up with.

So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

i made magnets in college out of paper dolls...glued the whole shebang onto a sheet of magnet, then cut out around it, and did the same for the clothes (leaving off the tabs, of course) so i could have my dollies all dressed up on the fridge and magnet board.

you could even use them as messages...like, make little signs for the dolls to hold, or speech bubbles, also on magnets, and cover them with packing tape so you can write on them with dry-erase markers (ie "i'm out shopping!" or "please do the dishes before i return!")

paper dolls rock so much.

I second the idea for magnets!

The magnet idea is great!  My friends daughter has a dolly that is a magnet on a piece of wood - the wood is cut to the shape of the doll.  Then all the clothes are on magnets.  She plays with it for hours!  It would be easier to save too!

They would be fun to use to illustrate a recipe collection,or photo album-with word balloons,of course! And you may want to check ebay-some of them might be worth something to a collector.I could see them decorating a purse or tote bag.I like the magnet idea!

You could make art with it or just frame it.

I like the magnet idea too!

i didn't think about magnets! i'm going to have to give some away because my fridge is covered in the glass bubble magnets i made one day.

i do like the whole word bubble thing to, because i have a paper doll family which i could modify into my family. yes! i like it!
