I made this corset a couple of years ago for my final show at Uni, I was working on the theme of inside being outside and had originally decided on making the corset look like her muscle structure was on the outside of her body but I poo pooed it. I still have the latex muscles I did so i'll put a piccie up of them because I think they look funky lol!

In the end I settled with making a spine like structure up the back and latexed the whole corset distressing it as I went. Many tears were shed but I'm happy with the end result. I'm very sad that I'm far to Chubby for it lol (its not me modeling it alas)l!!

The lacing isn't wonky, It has two sets of lacing, one on either side,  so its a double lacer, I'll try get some close-ups if people are interested  Smiley

Heres some close-ups and a little bit of the process so you can get an idea of how its done  Smiley

I started with a basic corset pattern, built up all the layers and boned  it, then painted on the latex

I added the edge binding and punched the holes and then tried the back spine with paper cut-outs, I then cut them from acetate and latexed them to match the corset.

The shirt was made from various fabrics I distressed and old battered leather belts.

Sorry if the pics are too  large  Huh

It took about a week for the whole costume give or take a few hours, i'm a lazy sewer. I'll do a bit, watch some CSI, do a bit more, watch another CSI, do a tiny bit more....order the next series of CSI from amazon lol!! I'll wash the pots, make some shrinkies... do a bit more. I have the attention span of a flea.

wow! what a gorgeous corset!
you said you used a basic pattern, is that one you made yourself, or did you find it somewhere?
I've always wanted a corset, but don't want to pay for one that will fall apart on me -ha, which i did. and it did.
so... pattern?
