Day of the Dead shoes.

I painted these with regular acrylic paint for a friend of mine. The tops of the shoes are the front of sugar skulls and the back of the shoe is the bottom jaw of the skull. I wanted it to look like she had her foot in the skull's mouth.

Wow, the "painted shoes" bar is really being raised high lately!  I thought the same thing looking at these:

The level of detail here is just amazing.  Did you put that on with a brush?  How on earth did you get such thin lines?  And they are so straight, doesn't the bumpy texture of the shoes make that almost impossible?

Your subject matter is genius.  I love DoD and would have never thought of that.  This sort of inspiration is what keeps me addicted to the Crackster!
