okay, picture time!

first of all thank you dsemira for a beautiful, colourful, thoughtful package. you have reminded me that wonderful things do come in small packages - not that great things don't come in big ones too (now i'm excited for you receive!). i had to stop by my apartment mid-day and was so excited to see the package peeking out of the mailbox! (and shocked...canada post has outdone itself). i couldn't work until i opened it.

all the gear together:

the hand-bound poetry notebook:

there are so many great images inside it, but i really liked the inside cover:

she beaded me a beautiful rumi bracelet (i actually took it off for this picture, i'd been wearing for the rest of the day at work!):

lovely collaged bookmarks. the beading on the top is really neat and i like the colours a lot too - wonderful use of colour!

now THESE cards are fantastic. a quick peek:

and a closer look - it is the text from the glass poem twisted into a celtic design!!

Such a great idea! I might try doing something like that for my apartment...

It is all so colourful and bright - thank you very much! I hope you like yours as much as I like mine - but I like mine a LOT!

okay!! so i took a few good night's sleep to download the pics and edit them, and here's the super package i received from edud:

i'm 5 months pregnant so she sent me this amazing baby blanket!!! i love it, so much work and love the design:

here's the super soft thermos backing:

then she sent me a little bag:

filled with little blank poetry journals, so sweet!!:

because we both like rumi, she sent me 4 double cards with rumi poetry and simple designs:

to top it off she sent me poetry magazines:

and a poetry book:

thank you so much edud for the awesome swap, i love your big piece and all the little ones, can't wait to cuddle my baby in that blanket Smiley
also thank you taerowyn for organizing this super swap!!!!

yes, many thanks to taerowyn for organizing! i'm happy you like your gear, djsemira, i loved making the blanket, the softness of it has compelled me to make more.

because you asked the question yourself, and because it is admittedly a bit of an obscure reference, i'll post the link to the lorax movie:

video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6650219631867189375

the lorax is a Dr.Seuss poem/book that talks about the environment. it is an appropriate pick for craftsters because the human cuts down a truffala tree to knit a thneed, a relatively useless, money-making item. (i saw a useful one here on craftster once...here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=126328.0) of course the sad tale goes that all the truffala trees get knocked down for selfishness and all-consuming commercialism...

so what more appropriate a pick for an expecting swap partner than a baby blanket with fuzzy truffala trees on it?
