i think the pea pod idea is so cute and would be comfortable.
just buy a simple green dress and tights, paint your belly green and cut a slit

I have a quick and easy one for you.

When I was pregnant in October, my hubby and I both wore garbage bags.  Mine had a sign that said, "I'm Hefty" and his had a sign that said, "And I'm Glad."

Mummy-to-be?  This is what I think my pregnant sister-in-law might go as this year.

You could paint your belly (or wear a shirt painted) like the earth. Then your hubby could dress as christopher columbus. You would be christopher columbus discovering america  Wink

My two favorites!! You should go with one of these!

The pregnancy fairy, I was at a party once with a very pregnant woman, she dressed like a fairy and carried around a pregnancy test and pointed it at people and said "Now you're pregnant too!"

It was hilarious, and really cute.

I saw this EGG costume in Family Fun Magazine.  Instead of using the plastic bowl, I'm going to wear a tight yellow T-shirt and let it stick out of the egg white.  I'm not sure exactly how to construct it yet,  please share suggestions if you have any.

I would make the egg white part less solid than the one in the photo.  Getting around with a preggo belly is awkward enough, you dont need a board strapped to you to make it more so.

I think you could make a simple fabric sack type dealy out of felt or fleece.

1 - egg white front with belly hole [2].  You could add strips of elastic inside the egg white that attaches the front to the back on the upper sides of your belly so that it was sure to stick out.

3 - optional strips of boning [or cardboard, or wire, etc] stitched into the shoulders to make the egg white more shapely

4 - egg white back piece same shape as front but without belly hole.

Another fun one is to paint your belly or wear a green shirt and attach green felt stripes, to look like a watermelon.

Then you can wear a summery dress and be Baby from Dirty Dancing!

At a party this weekend we saw a pregnant girl dressed up as a slutty schoolgirl, wearing a crop top, of course. I thought it was a really funny play on the sexy Halloween crap.

Thanks for the construction idea Silvana.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to make this costume, but hopefully someone else will be inspired.
