so my little hippie friend has been bugging me for some knit legwarmers... so as i was feeling sad and uninspired i was searching around craftster as usual... and i came across the secret garden tam. i knew she would love it so of course i had to get to a yarn store asap. and while i was there i found some great yarn that inspired me to start her legwarmers.... and then, i stil had yarn leftover so i knit her some armwarmers...and i even have a little bit left so i think i will make her a headband of some sorts... so onto the pics!
thats the link to the secret garden tam

both armwarmers
a closer look at the front of the armwarmer

The legwarmers.. they are actually pretty bell shaped.

The tam is knit from patons shetland chunky, 2 balls of it. and then i used Patons Rumor for the pom pom, the leg warmers and the arm warmers...

I told her she didnt have to wear everything together, that its all just knit out of the same yarn because thats just how it happened... but, shes crazy and says she'll wear it all with pride hahahahaha
thanks for looking!

PATTERN ADDED
-for armwarmers
Patons Rumor
on 10.5us dpns
-Cast on 21 sts
-join in round careful not to twist k1p1 across row for 3 rounds
-knit across for 3 rounds
-then turning your knitting so to purl back across the row (this will create a hole for the thumb)
-knit a row (still not joining)
-join back in round and knit a round
-continue in stockinnette st for 7 inches from needle to cast on edge
- knit 5 sts, make 1 st, knit 10 sts, make 1 st and knit 6 sts to finish the round
- knit until piece measures 9 sts from needle to cast on edge
-switch to dpns 1 or 2 sizes smaller to make a little bit of a tighter ribbing for the end of the armwarmers and k1p1 for 5 rows
-cast off loosley
-weave in ends

make 1 more and thats it...

Did you use a pattern for the leg and arm warmers? I think I need a matching set, too! Yours are too cute and earthy in the color you chose. Great job!
