My fiance asked me last weekend to make him some gloves. Now, the last two times I had tried to make gloves were disasterous, but he still wanted me to try. Thankfully, this time around they turned out pretty good, plus there was just enough yarn left for a hat for me!

In-progress pic (just for funsies!)

And my hat:

Edited to add:
Ok, I’m not so good with patterns. I don’t usually follow them, so writing one will be interesting. It’s more of a pattern/tutorial combined so you can fit the gloves to your own hands, but here it is:
Materials:
5 oz. Red Heart super saver
Size H hook
Cuff:
1) Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across, ch 1, turn (10 sc)
2) In back loops only, sc en each sc across, ch 1, turn
3) repeat until it is long enough to go around your wrist
4) Sl stitch seam together, do not finish off
Next:
Ch 1, sc all the way around the top of the cuff (see Picture Below) I think on my gloves I ended up with about 35 sc around, but yours will vary based on hand size.

Continue working rounds until you get to just below your thumb.
Sc in first 5 (more or less depending on size of gloves), then skip over to the other side and sc in last 5 to complete round.

Work in rounds for the length of the thumb.
Finish off, leave a little extra yarn on end.
Weave the extra in and out of the 10 or so stitches at the top and pull tight to close the thumb. Knot it and weave in ends.
Work the remaining open part of the glove in rounds until it comes to the base of your pinky finger. In the next two rounds, increase until you have about 34 stitches around. (Again, more or less depending on how big your fingers are.)
Work the fingers the same way as the thumb. Mine were between 8-9 stitches around.
Hopefully this was helpful, but if you have any more questions feel free to ask!
