I made some pajama pants from a fitted sheet (from a double-sized mattress, I think).  The nifty part is I didn't have to worry about elastic in the waist because I cut the fabric so that the entire waist used the gathered part of the sheet.

Here's how I started:  I cut an approximation for my fabric, taking advantage of the gathered part of the sheet.

Then I traced an existing pair of pajama pants as a pattern, and I sewed the PJ pants together:

Then I wore them!

Those look so comfy! Love it!

Okay. I think I'm the only one possibly to mess up PJ pants, but if you could, could you please elaborate? I'm a sewing newbie.

Very nice! Great use of the bed sheet, I love it! I'll have to go see if our thrift store has any so I can try this. Smiley

OMG what a great idea!! I have tons of sheets that are just sitting in my linen closet not being used AND I love having lounge pants! Excellent!  Grin

you know, having just gone to the Ren Fair out here-
if you pick the right sheet and color, you could make one of those nifty renfair dresses! elastic at the waits with the gathers around the shoulders!
