I've seen that sweater around and it is sooo great! I would totally make that sweater if it hasnt already been done!

SO far Im going with a top down sweater where each decreasing row becomes crazier and crazier. I love the idea of a colorwork parrot. So the top of the parrot is fine but as it graduates into the wings and tail it really becomes crazy. Fun fur, fringe, chicken bones, all matter of mess will be hanging from the bottom "tail". Also the sleeves will be different, maybe one extremely lumpy, malformed, with bobble-y tumor thingies. The other I want to have striped and very very long. At the end I was even thinking of gluing the circular needle into the stitches and keeping the ball of yarn attached so it still looks like a horrible work in progress Smiley

Update-Not *THIS* adventurous http://www.websampler.com/earthcreations/p01b.jpg Maybe if I ever need to make the world's ugliest shirt.

My immediate idea when I read this post was 'ahhh, that sweater than Jo-Marie used to wear! The one with the slot machine on it, and gold glitter and fake gold beads and absolutely crapness!'
You could knit an interactive slot machine and put it on the front, or even the back. Make a little pocket of sorts, and knit little coins attached to it with lengths of yarn. Then you could put the little coins in the the little coin slot!
Because when I think of grandmas, I think of crazy casino addicts. <3 my family.

Crackpony's idea is the ultimate, though. Cow udders AND a fanny pack in one! Ahhhhhh!
