I don't know if this is inappropriate or not to post, but I thought it would be fun to share. I made this while watching the MTV VMA's last weekend. I have yet to use it during a big rain fall. I still love it though. I saw this umbrealla in a store in Ottawa, Ontario and decided to try it myself before shelling out the $25+ to buy it.

Hope you like it.

Ooh, I like that yours has both English and French. The ones sold here in Ottawa (Blue Oasis, $30 CDN) are all in French only. I think the joke probably goes over best in the States or in Western Canada where fewer people speak French. Nearly everyone in this area is bilingual, or at least knows enough French to be able to read the umbrella.

I too was thinking of just painting Merde Il Pleut on my own umbrella, but I thought the paint would just wash off. What kind of paint did you use, may I ask?

I live in Ottawa too, and saw the umbrella there.

As for the paint, I just went to a dollarstore, bought a stencil and used a permanent marker. And Voila! A cool umbrella.

I have never seen an umbrella like that before! I agree fully with the sentiment, though.

Permanent marker! I really never thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
