Inspired by a snowflake napkin in the Pottery Barn catalog, I decided to use some fake linen I bought ages ago for some pants I'm never going to make to make a tablecloth.

I bought some red linen, cut four 9-inch strips, sewed them to each side, hemmed the sides, and embroidered a snowflake in one of the corners. When I have the time, I'm going to embroider snowflakes in the other three corners. But the whole thing only took me about an hour and a half.

If I did it over again, I'd prewash the red linen. I'm afraid it's going to run.

It's very pretty.  It looks like winter and snow, and valentines, and family dinners.  I like it very much.
