I'm thinking about dressing up for halloween as a confederateish girl. Dead one of course. If you've seen 2001 Maniacs, I want to look kind of like one of those girls except not alive. I want the dress to have the confederate flag and everything. I just can't figure out where to start. I doubt I'll start from stratch, but I don't know where to buy a dress similar to one of that era that isn't real expensive.. and I'll probably get fake blood all over it so I don't want it to have a lot of value anyway besides sentimental lol, any ideas?

You could sew something like this and then add blood and perhaps dirt to it.

You could try looking at old prom or bridesmaid dresses.  You will need one with a big skirt that you need a hoop underneath.  Check thrift stores, garage sales, ebay, craigs list, etc.
