finally ive figured out how to post pictures, so here are some items ive been meaning to post for awhile. the polka dot dress is actually lingerie type fabric, and the one thats gray and blurry says "we do it in the halls", its a free shirt i got from the residence committee at my school, so i made it into a dress. the hat is crocheted, i found the pattern online

I like your Hawaiin-type material dress.  Nice, but I'd never wear anything that short.

For the gray dress, I used a t-shirt reconstruction pattern from http://www.ohmystars.net  kudos to whoever makes that site- they have so many great ideas and the instructions are supereasy. I also used instructions from there to make the fluttery bottom part of the hawaiin dress. The polka dot and hawaiin dress were just two rectangular pieces of fabric sewn together, and then ruffles added to the bottom- i didnt have to put a lot of structure into them, bc the fabrics were stretchy- not to mention from the DOLLAR BIN at walmart! the pattern was based off of this: http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects/proj_helmet_1299.html
i usually follow patterns pretty loosely, shaping as I go. I made the whole thing first out of the black yarn, and then I edged around the whole thing in pink with a popcorn stitch.  i made it for my mom for her birthday, but she doesnt wear it so i might just start wearing it myself. hehe
