edited to say: thankyou for your corrections here folks. this is in fact a bee, and not a wasp, and I feel suitably foolish about it!  Roll Eyes I might put more of my (creatively-labelled) photography up in this thread, in fact.

Yes, i think it's a bee, not a wasp.  Wasps don't have fuzzy fur like bees do.

I thought it looked like a honey bee, too.  I thought maybe I couldn't see that creepy, skinny thorax from the angle of the camera.  Could that be?  Er, "bee"?
