I'm thinking of purchasing this spoon rest for a friend's wedding, but only if I can personalize it.

I doubt that any kind of paint would stay on it...especially if it is used.  But it does look like you could have it engraved, maybe have their names & wedding date engraved inside it or on the handle part??
