So I actually made one of these hats almost two years ago (Feb 2008) and never posted a picture of it.  Since I'm now making another one, I thought I'd share the first.

I made it for a friend.  Smiley

I just wanted to pop in and say that this hat was the first thing I have crocheted that was not a granny square or a scarf or something rectangle...I always thought hats would be so difficult!

But, I did it with one try!!! And it fits...and now all my friends want one!  I used inexpensive yarn in case I messed up, and it still looks great!  When I make one out of better yarn, I will post a pic...

Thanks so much for this pattern and a good experience...I will be hitting your blog for more patterns!

I made this hat in the make a hat swap.. Lol, I was so not in the mood for being in photos when I took this one, so I'm in pjs. I added little flowerettes to the front to tie the hat to the colors in the scarf I made.
I adore this pattern! I'm about to make another one for a swap tonite, hopefully one day I'll make one for myself because I love it!

I like that you added flowers (which is on my list to learn how to do!)...

I also love this hat!  I have made three so far!

I made one extra large for my niece's boyfriend out of camo yarn...it fits his dredlocks!

Thank you again for a great easy pattern (and, I conquered those puff things!!)

Updated 2/14/2010. I posted my hats on the destash thread!  Thanks again!

I have a question. After you create a puff stitch do I need to chain one on top to secure the puff?

This video might make more since.

Thank you.

yes...slip stich after you pull your thread through the bobble...then chain one..if you look at #10 in her pattern, you do a puff, single crochet on top of puff, single crochet again, then repeat with puff...

this truly is one of my favorite patterns ever... Cheesy

I made one too!
I didn't have the correct size hook, so I had to improvise a bit, but it's still basically the same pattern.
Sorry for crappy webcam pics Cheesy

You are just too cute in your hat!  I love how you used two colors!  Nicely done!
