That's an amazing design!  And I can't believe you are dying all the fabric yourself.  You are one motivated person! Good luck with paper piecing (definetly not my favorite thing to do) and I can't wait to see it completed.

That is one of the most beautiful quilting patterns I've ever seen in my life! You are insane, but it's made with so much love, I can't even imagine how well it'll wear and how long it'll last. You are amazing... insane, but amazing.

I totally agree, you are insane.  That quilt is one of the coolest I've ever seen.  I think you should enter it in a contest or submit it to a quilting magazine.  They'd do a spread on it, it's just gorgeous!

My mom is an amazing quilter and she's been into the cathedral style too. I have to bookmark this to show her! This is going to be SO BEAUTIFUL once it's completed! Might start a few arguments over who gets it but what a heirloom you've started!

Wow. Just wow. That quilt is just breathtaking. I really admire you for tackling it! I hope that you'll post more photos as you go.

Will be great to see the finished product!  The colours, time, design, are all fabulous!  You should be proud of your accomplishment.

Your hand dyes are stunning ... great use of colour!

I had to LOL about the burying part ... I made a queen sized quilt. The blocks are Lemoyne Stars and they are entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted. Took 3 YEARS to finish that mother. When finsihed, my DH asked who would be receiving it when I died. I told him it was my burial shroud and I was TAKIN' IT WITH ME!    Grin
