"Bugaboo, how on earth did you get the coverings over the balls?"

Hahaha ok I am not laughing at you but with you and at myself because when I received the pattern I went "Ohh pretty but when the glass ball breaks you have no ornament anymore" because I thought you crocheted them over the ball as you went.
Actually if you ever want to or need to change the ribbon or if a glass ball should break just untie the ribbon, they are jackets that slip over the ball and you cinch the top in with the ribbon.

the napkins with appliqued pigs are great, i love the toile fabric.

i'm really happy people like the owl hangings, day 9 and 8 were by far my favourite days.

luxielou, the art on the left, the one with the mirror/reflective surface was awesome. i see these kits for string art at thrift stores, i didn't know you could make something cool like your art with that.

I'm not attached to your world, nothing heals, nothing grows... we used to love ourselves, we used to love one another.

life is no cabaret- we don't care what you say, we're inviting you anyway, you mf'ers, you'll sing someday!

The first thing out of my package from Shauna was for my little girl for her 2nd birthday!  It was a really adorable coloring book and melted star crayon.  I will post a picture tomorrow.  My daughter LOVED it!  And she says "Tank eww" Shauna!  Grin

Aw, she is very welcome!

And now I must say, the CRAYON was my big disaster. Because originally, there were supposed to be a whole set of different-shaped crayons. I spent 3 hours peeling crayons, breaking them, and putting them in cookie-cutters, then into the oven on a cookie sheet. Well, the cookie-sheet moved when the heat got to a certain point, and ALL the cookie-cutters leaked, making a giant mass of dark brown crayon. It took me 4 hours to clean the cookie sheet and all the cookie cutters, but I'm still not sure I got all the wax off, and there weren't enough crayons left to try again with the melt-and-pour method I did for the star.

So thanks Krystle, for the new and 100% wax-free cookie cutters!

Day 8
De-stress was my theme today. And with the last few days I've had, you'll never know how happy I was opening this. I received a peppermint pillow, and crocheted secret guy, (who when I opened it I squealed to my husband, who is on the phone with me as I open all my gifts, I thought it was a zombie gingerbread man! Silly me.) Packets of tea, and hot cocoa, a box of peppermint tea, two boxes of those metal stress balls in two different sizes.

Crocheted Mary Janes!
I have wanted these ever since I saw them!
They are sooooo comfy!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It's a peppermint hot pack made with deer corn and peppermint.  Microwave 1 1/2 to 2 minutes for heat.  Instructions should have been in the card.

The Gingerbread man has no mouth because he is a secret keeper and secret keepers have no mouths.

I had hoped you would like the Mary Janes.

Yep, the instructions were in the card. Ever since that package came, the whole box has smelled like it. It drove me crazy, because I knew it smelled familiar, but couldn't place it. I was gunning for day eight, let me tell you.
After I read the card, I saw that he was a secret keeper. I laughed at myself thinking he was a zombie gingerbread man. He already has a secret in fact.
And like the Mary Janes? I love them.

Can I just say that this is the most awesome swap ever.  As I was crafting for this, there were times when I thought 'bah, humbug'.  I was insane to do this.  But, as someone who usually takes care of all the Christmas preparations in my home, it is so nice to have a treat every morning.  I am more into the spirit of Christmas this year then I have ever been.  And it is all thanks to my sweet kind parnter Lunanne.  (and Kish, the organizer)
