Bicycle rim minus the spokes, string CDs thru holes in rim with fishing line, attach chains thru additional holes, hang a socket on a cord from ceiling. The actual bulb part, I still need to work on.
Glad you like it.

One day, I will post pictures of these, but I "collect"  MAC eyeshadows and don't want to pay for a pallette, so I put polymer clay on AOL tins, no the sliding ones, and use some memory foam to nestle my littel eye shdows in, put a magnent on teh back, and voila!

Also, if you stick a AOL CD in the micorwave for a couple seconds (don't wal k away) it makes a really neat pattern on it!

Cd's make good craft items...
I take those ugly preprinted on one side and shiny on the other side type cd's and glue them together (printed side 'in') with a good length of nylon filament (fishing line) down the center..
then I glue (also back to back but with the fishing line in the center) different sized mini mirrors (circles, triangles, diamonds, squares, etc.) and those mini preshaped jewel look rhinestones (butterfly, dragonfly, hearts, etc.) all the way down the line...
I add some beads or bells at the very bottom...
and I put one set of rhinestones in the open circle of the old cd...
make sure you put a loop at the top of the fishing line so you can hang this up from a ceiling or whatever.

Happy Crafting..

i'm sure someone's said this, but you can take cds and microwave them for five seconds on high. a blue shock comes out of them that's really cool and it doesn't damage your microwave. just don't go over about ten seconds...then they'll start to melt. afterwards, they have a neat crackled effect.

After reading so many of these posts I decided that I will make a solid colored handbag and have the hubby drill holes in the CD and embellish the bag.

Okay so I had a bag nearly done, a pleather shoulderbag. Hubby destroyed the few CD's I gave him so I tried this idea.

Here is the interior shot of this bag.

Okay, I just had a brainwave, its probably pretty stupid cos I'm a kid and all but it is: You could sort of hang a cd on your door or where ever and with a dry wipe pen write whatever you want for example. Go away, Come back later, Come in, ZZZZ I'm asllep. It would probably look nicer than a whiteboard because it's coloured.
Please COMMENSTS I get all proud when someone comments on my ideas/work.

I never thought of that. Usually the ideas that are the most simple are the best. I think it's brilliant! Grin
