Letterboxing Swap?

I'm also so excited we have new people discovering letterboxing, and veterans continuing to hunt!  I took my kids a couple of weeks ago.... love it, love it.

If signups are near Halloween, I can probably still participate!   I am sorry I can't help out w/organizing, though.   

What is the swap going to entail?  A stamp and a journal?  That should be quick and relatively inexpensive.  What are your thoughts and ideas??

This weekend I bought a small air tight plastic box. I'm still not sure if I can justify hiding it somewhere in the great outdoors or if I should take one of the old plastic lunch boxes that are starting to look worn...

I think I could make a small journal for the box too as long as I keep it simple. The stamp is teh biggest problem so far. I asked in the craft shop but they didn't have anything to carve, just some kind of colourful stuff I could cut and glue to something. I want to carve... I guess I could just look for unused erasers around the house.

I hope my first swap package will arrive in time for me to join this swap.

Thats really sad. When I went to the craft store around here. They looked at me like they didn't even work there when I asked about carving stamps. They said those sharp exacto *Can't spell* knives. I said to myself. "Ehhh big no" Then I looked around and found the carving tools in the section with the coloured pencils and erasers. :]

Oh, Annchen!  If you use the old lunch box, please make sure it's watertight.  There's nothing worse than having a waterlogged log book after you put that work into the box.  Ziplock bags help, but a good box is your first defense.

Idk if you have ac moore by you, but they have the  "pink stuff" that you use to carve stamp. It is normally on the very bottom shelf at the end of the rubber stamp isel (I cant spell worth anything, sorry) They also have the speedball cutter starter kit. had the handle and like 5 or 6 blades. Plus, you can print out and use 40% off cupons, lol.

I'm in Sweden and I've never heard of ac moore... I'll just keep looking. I've seen some nice looking stamp pads so there's still hope.

And I'm going to make sure that whatever box I use is waterproof and easy to close. We have some boxes that are great if you manage to get them closed. I don't like them but my fiance loves them. Might be because he's strong enough to close them properly and get them to seal without struggling.
