Hi ^^... I'm completely new to weaving and will probably buy a modern loom any day now ^^. The thing is I have this fascination with prehispanic cultures and have always wanted to try and build/use a back strap loom (The kind of looms precolumbian coltures used).
Do you think it'd be too difficult to use?
I'm sure I can build it, and I understand how to use it, but I'm not sure if I should begin with a modern day loom and then try this idea.

Thoughts? Ideas? Advice?
Thanks ^^

Well you could try and build one, that would actually be the cheaper way to go and if you find you really like it you could always buy something nicer later.

I am interested in backstrap so... did you try? Harrisville sells a $20 kit if you want to be sure that you have all the pieces you need.
I am taking a class using a rigid heddle, but starting to wonder where I will put a loom in my apartment.
