i made amelia a new halloween bonnet. her dad picked fabric for 2, and this is the first. it's reversible, and the brim can be folded back so the plaid shows more, or it can be worn all-over plaid if i turn it inside out and be a fall bonnet too!
the pics are a little fuzzy, but they're smiley spiders, with pointy teeth and lots of eyes! the inside is black/orange plaid with a few yellow and purple lines too.
 gotta go sew...

i put up a horrible tute that was mostly words, if you can follow it, it's here somewhere. we were moving, the internet kept going on and off, my camera disappeared after i took pics of cutting out the pattern and i never got pics of sewing it...
as soon as the hubby has a day off, i swear i will make a proper bonnet tutorial with pictures!

So cute! ... And the hat's adorable, too. She looks so pleased to wear it, too. Most kids don't like hats tied under their chins, or the kids I've known have been too picky in the first place.

Great idea for the reversible part, too. Fun and normal all in one.

she hates hats, i think it's because they shift and get in her eyes. it actually made me modify the first bonnet pattern to be a little shorter and back from her face more when the brim was forward like in these pics. when i tie her bonnet on, she reaches up, can't get it off, then never touches it again.
but it may be that she's teething on the ties occasionally, so she doesn't hate the ties?? she has another hat that ties and she hates it! but it came from h&m. maybe she just hated mall hats... don't i wish...

and again, thank you everyone! and thank you from chubby miss muffet!
