So, I was trying to come up with a Christmas present for my nephew when I happened upon a blank canvas of mine with a hole poked through it. Obviously, I don't want to paint on a damaged canvas, but I don't want it to go to waste, either. And so I came up with a solution to both problems: Felt board!
(I asked my 5 year old nephew what theme he wanted: VeggieTales? SpongeBob? He chose Mario.)
Here's the board with only the background. The pirahna plant is glued down (as opposed to being repositional), because I figure the stem would be too easily ripped otherwise.

With all the goodies on:

And the other:

The great part of this is that, not only is it a toy, it makes cool, changeable art! The themes you could do for a felt board are pretty much limitless. Even just with this one, there are sooo many things that I could add!
Hope you enjoyed looking.  Wink

Adorable!!!  What a fun toy!  I love how you did old-school Mario, and your Yoshi is so cute, too!  Cheesy

I'm glad you're stealing the idea! The figure there are lots of people on Craftster who could do a much better job than me, and just need a nudge in the right direction.  Wink

Oh I remember these! My mum made me one once when I was little. One side had a hill scene and the other had a beach. She made a girl and boy with clothes and buildings, trees, animals and toys. It's such a fun toy!

I'd rather swing on the moon than a star.
