This is only my second stencil, a shirt I made for my friend for his birthday ... made the stencil myself (with some pointers from one of my artsy friends) from this image (I flipped the image FYI):

http://nexus404.com/Blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/minox-dcc-leica-m3-the-mini-leica-styled-digital-camera.jpg

I'm really nervous cause I want him to really like it and now I have to wait 3 days to find out!! Patience is not my forte lol.
I put the camera on the side so it looked kind of ... funky/edgy/cool whatever the young things are saying these days  Cheesy.

If you could give me some feedback that'd be great ... thanks heaps everyone, also for all the helpful threads and inspiration I've gotten here.

STENCILS

Please feel free to use these for your own personal, not for sale projects  Smiley

It's actually navy but yeah, still a dark colour. I did umm, 4 coats I think? 4 or 5 coats of 'Permaset Aqua Fabric Magic' paint straight onto the shirt and then heat set it with an iron.
I also washed and dried the shirt first to allow for shrinkage and whatnot.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone Smiley

Relax - you have nothing to worry about - he will love it unless he has no taste. Then, you should just pity him Smiley

Wow!  Hard to believe you've only done that once before.  I think it looks very professional.  The level of detail is very impressive.

I'm very curious about what you used to get such great resuls.  What sort of stencil material did you use (freezer paper, plastic, etc.) and how did you cut it?

I'm currently stressing over cutting some very simple outlines because I don't think I can be that precise with an exacto.

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

wow! it looks wonderful!!  Shocked congratulations, I really really like how it looks! you did a great job, creating the estencil and painting on the shirt, I am starting to stencil too, and i know its not that easy to get clean lines, and if you cutted that with an exacto knife, man! you do have patience!! he will love it, I am sure!
