So I've been wanting to TRY making cargo pockets for a while,I kinda just looked at some other bags online and my daughter's old purse and went from there, now I have some design errors that are visible, but I won't point that out Roll Eyes Well, here it is

Being modeled by my door, it was hard to get a picture where the whole purse would show. It's made from a heavy cotton almost denim type fabric, I used craft interfacing and it's lined with a white print cotton, the pockets didn't get all the way lined (due to my not planning ahead mental block! LOL!) Closes with a zipper that has a cute little charm
Here's maybe a better view on my table looking downward

Here's a picture of the cargo pockets they close with velcro

Here's an inside zip pocket

The other side is a patch pocket w/ a pen holder

I added a key holder but didn't get a picture of that, my daughter claimed this before I even got done which made me happy she liked it- hope you like it too  Grin

Thank you! I didn't think the pockets were too terribly hard I just forgot to line them all the way, it's like putting a gusset around the front part of the pocket then sew around the outside of the gusset to the outside of the purse-does that make sense? I'm bad at explaining! Thanks for the compliment!

I love the shape and all the pockets. Did you make your own pattern for the size/shape?

Thanks Nancy! Yeah I basically copied my daughter's old purse for the shape just drew it on paper then cut a pattern, the gusset on her old one was wider on the bottom and in the middle then tapered up getting more narrow as it reaches the straps  Smiley I tend to be more into purses than tote bags although my next project is going to be a diaper bag for my daughter's girlfriend due in December! I'm following a pattern for that one! Grin
