Sock Monkey Love!

The hair was a challenge, but I found chenille stems did the trick. Smiley

EDIT for hair explination. Smiley

I found a good tutorial for the basic instructions on how to make a yarn wig for a doll at wiki how
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Sock-Doll
scroll down to step 11.
That is basically how I make yarn wigs, but I don't use felt or hand baste- I cheat.  Cheesy
All I do is -
1. Stick masking tape down the center of the yarn that is wrapped around a piece of cardboard - carefully take it off the cardboard.
2. Machine sew through the center of the tape several times
3. Carefully tear the tape off the yarn.

For Beast (and any doll with hair going strait back instead of to either side- like braids) I doubled the hair over and sewed the seam in the shape of his hairline.
To make the unique shape I sewed chenille stems (covered with the same yarn) under the hair and then sewed the hair in place at the nape of his neck in back.

I hope that is understandable.  If not, please, feel free to ask questions! Cheesy
