gkswife, FABULOUS job on all of those blocks!  I'm so jealous of your free time to be able to sew!!

Maybe I'll just skip my Superbowl parties next weekend and stay home to quilt.  Smiley

thank you! But I wish I had "free time to sew"  I have just been making time! I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old that I homeschool so I've just been doing these in any moments I have, I'm just so determined to catch up. I have a pile of dishes to prove that I've been making time   Roll Eyes

OK this is the last one I'll be able to do for a little while (dishes & laundry are needing my full attention)

Cups and Saucers

I'm hoping by Saturday evening I'll have some time to do the last 2. I'm determined to be caught up by the end of the month!

Gkswife- I just love your blocks!  Castle Wall is especially spectacular!
I'm also jealous of your free time dedicated to sewing!  Wink

All I had time to do last night was to LOOK at my fabric.  Cheesy

I'm pre-washing new fabric!  That kind of counts as sewing project stuff.  Smiley

(Fabric for another quilt, of course.)

Aww thats a shame about your machine - can it be fixed or is it a major broken thing?

and dont worry about not getting blocks done on time. If you get you machine fixed you can still craftalong if you want - no one says you have to do every block every month - you could do a catch up if you wanted. Its not like a swap where you have to be done by a certain date after all  Grin

I still have the blocks from this month to do but Im not going to get to do them for a few weeks yet - too much life & crafting stuff.

gkswife you did an awesome job with your blocks  Smiley
Especially love the way you did the castle wall block which I thought was a bit tricky in terms of dimension.

i made my first block!

i'm too excited to wait til morning to take a picture, so i scanned it! (i promise i'll take a better pic soon!)

the wandering star

it's not really that wrinkly, it just didn't like being scanned.

i've been hemming and hawing over what fabric to use, and tonight i remembered this stuff. a friend gave it to me a few years ago, and i've almost given it away again a few times, but i just kept saving it for something!

i have a whole bunch of colours of it, and it's varigated, the colours change across the width and goes back to the same at the other end. i cut the pieces for the block from each end. i like how it's not super high contrast, because i'm not usually into block designs, i'm more doing it for the challenge than anything else.

i managed to keep it kinda close to the right size - it measures 9"x9.25". it should be 9.5"x9.5", but i guess i wasn't good enough at the "scant" 1/4" seams!
