Inspired by Patricia Zapata's work at http://www.alittlehut.com, I made a simple bit of cut paper art for the wall in my bedroom. It's very subtle against the light blue wall, but it sticks off the wall just enough to tell what it is (I hope!).

The frame is a repurposed frame-like accessory from a big fluorescent kitchen light (I think), so it's not built to hold glass. I'm sure I could get crafty enough to figure something out, but it works as is for now.

Inside the frame windows, I cut out tree shapes on the bottom row and cloud shapes on the top row. I tried to make the clouds look like they could actually be the foliage for the trees that has somehow lifted off the branches, by placing them more or less directly over the tree branches below.

While I'm not nearly as gifted with line and with an exact-o as Ms. Zapata, I enjoyed making this and I am impressed with how it turned out.

What do you think?

This is how it sits on the wall:

And a little detail from the ride side:

Thank you for checking it out.

Ohhh that is so pretty!
Its really calming and soothing looking too. I like having things that relax me on my walls. Specially in high stress rooms like the craft room..  Wink

That is gorgeous on its own, but I wonder how it would look backlit!

Great job by the way. Cheesy

I love this! It's such a great idea- I have a ton of old windows that I haven't been able to figure out what to do with- you've given me such inspiration!

Yep. I cut each sheet (heavy-weight, white paper) to a size that fit the "window," gave them an inch mat/margin, and then taped the finished sheet to the back of the frame.

It's too easy not to try -- go for it!

wow that is so cool!!!

just my 2 cents - I think you could make it pop more if you painted the frame white.
