I have discovered that I dislike the toe-up sock. I kind of wish I hadn't discovered that until after knitting the second one so I'd have a pair. I *will* knit another, by god. I just don't know when. More details are on my blog if you are so inclined to look:

Stick with it, you can do it!! I haven't gotten up the courage to knit a sock yet... Soon, I shall.

They're really not so bad. This one was just a pain due to a combination of the toe-up aspect and the lace. It's a lovely sock though.

I don't like toe up either.  Gorgeous sock though... I tried my first ever sock toe up, finished it, frogged it and knit a pair of awesome top down socks (knitty's sweatpea) with the yarn.
I'd like to know how you did your decreases for the heel part, they never were tight enough for me....

I've always done my socks (well, the two pairs I've made) two at once on two circ needles, otherwise, I'm afraid I'd never finish them.  Your baudelaire sock looks great!

Heel decreases: It is a short row heel, and I just followed the instructions, which are here: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTbaudelaire.html
Sorry, I just don't remember the specifics!

Two socks on two circs: that would mean buying 2 circs of each size and then storing them in such a way that I can find them both when I need them Smiley I may actually try this soon though. I sorta promised a friend I'd make her a pair of socks for xmas and I definitely want to try two socks at once. But I've heard that you can do that with Magic Loop as well, and ML is my favorite way of knitting socks. So I'll try one of those methods, definitely!

Very pretty!  If I were you, I'd probably force myself to start the second sock right away just to have a pair.  They look great, though.

Nice, what a lovely color choice! I have to say I feel completely the opposite about toe-up socks - I made one pair top-down a loooong time ago and HATED them and the process and the heel flap, everything about them, but a couple months ago I decided to give socks another try with the Baudelaire pattern and loved it! I waited a while until I made the second one out of laziness, but it definitely went faster than the first one (about twice as fast, I think) so hang in there!
